Meet Deputy Chancellor Daisy Gonzales

The Executive Office oversees and coordinates the efforts of the following divisions: Academic Affairs, Student Services and Special Programs, Economic Development and Workforce Preparation, College Finance and Facilities Planning, Technology, Research, and Information Servicesand Government Relations. The Executive Office assists in the implementation of system wide initiatives, including the Board of Governor’s student success agenda. In addition, it works to strengthen and streamline transfer pathways between the California Community Colleges and the California State University.

Meet Executive Vice Chancellor Laura Hope

Executive Vice Chancellor Laura Hope provides leadership and technical assistance for policy and programs that support student access, equity and success -- as well as leadership and technical assistance to enhance the capacity of colleges in the areas of academic planning.




Meet Vice Chancellor Alice Perez

The Academic Affairs Division is responsible for providing state-level review of community college curriculum and instructional support activities. The division is committed to providing leadership and technical assistance to enhance the capacity of the community colleges in the areas of academic planning, review and approval of credit degrees and certificates, Library and Learning Resources, technology strategic planning, basic skills/ESL intersegmental policies, program development and coordination, credit/noncredit adult education, and Fund for Student Success -- Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) program, Puente Project, and Middle College High School program.

The primary goal of the staff in the Student Services and Special Programs Division is to ensure that all students have access to the college courses needed to achieve their educational objectives and the support to help them complete their goals.

Our team of communication professionals is charged with developing and maintaining the California Community Colleges statewide website created specifically to foster success among prospective and current students. Our team also manages media relations; determines style guides for writing, graphics and web; publishes reports to the governor and Legislature; creates timely marketing pieces and much more.

Meet Chancellor Christian Osmeña

The College Finance and Facilities Planning Division oversees the formulation of policies that determine the distribution of local assistance and capital outlay funds for the 72 community college districts. The division staff oversees the construction and remodeling of new buildings and centers. They use web-based tools to assess facilities, coordinate planning and evaluate and manage projects efficiently.

As part of the Workforce & Digital Futures Division, the goal of the Digital Innovation and Infrastructure Division is to improve experience and outcomes for California community college students through technology-focused initiatives.





Meet General Counsel Marc LeForestier

The Legal Affairs Division provides legal counsel to the board of governors, the chancellor, and Chancellor's Office staff as requested; drafts and reviews proposed legislation and regulations; reviews all contracts and grants entered into by the agency; coordinates with the Attorney General's Office in litigation where the board of governors is a party; and anticipates the need for and recommends new legal policy.




Meet Vice Chancellor Laura N. Metune

The Governmental Relations Division represents the Chancellor's Office before the Legislature and executive branch of the state and federal government. In addition, it is responsible for formulating and advancing the legislative agenda of the system.





Meet Executive Vice Chancellor Theresa Tena

The Institutional Effectiveness Division oversees the development and operation of a comprehensive technical assistance program to further student success. The program overlays every division of the Chancellor’s Office – including academic affairs, student services, economic and workforce development, research, and fiscal - and will develop a framework of indicators focused on accreditation, fiscal viability, student performance, and compliance with state and federal guidelines.





The Internal Operations Division provides leadership and staff support services to pilot the strategic success of the California Community Colleges and students. The team values responsiveness, results and respect in delivering a broad range of services in human resources, including recruitment, examination services, health and safety, and equal opportunity.





Meet Executive Vice Chancellor Van Ton-Quinlivan

The Workforce and Economic Development Division is responsible for supporting instruction, managing grants to community colleges, providing technical assistance, and implementing various special programs. The division is composed of three units: Career Technical Education, Economic and Workforce Development, and Nursing and Allied Health. The division staff coordinates jobs and career opportunities for community college graduates to advance California’s economic growth and global competitiveness.
